George Carroll known as “Chef Haus.”
Chef Haus started cooking professionally right out of high school in 2003. Wanting to take his career seriously, Chef Haus attended Johnson & Wales University down in North Miami Florida in 2006. Almost 2 years at the university and no degree, Chef Haus joined The United States Army Reserves. Since joining the reserves and still wanting to cook, Chef Haus decided that his best option was to gain his experience directly from the industry itself.
Moving back in 2010 to the DMV area, Chef Haus settled in Richmond, VA. Needing a job, Chef Haus took the quickest gig he could find as a dishwasher and began making his way up the ranks. Along the way Chef Haus gained knowledge in French Techniques while working at Chez Max in the west end, under the direction of Chef Skip Frazzano.
In 2017, Chef Haus became Executive Chef of a busy local food group at “Max’s on Broad." Wanting more from the industry, Chef Haus went on to become Head Chef at two other local establishments. When the pandemic hit and the hospitality industry took a huge dive, Chef Haus started venturing into private dinners and events. Taking control of his own path and gaining over 18 years in the industry, Chef Haus officially started TheChefHaus LLC in 2023.
Self-taught through his gained experience, Chef Haus is known for his take on New American Cuisine with French techniques along with Latin and Asian flavors. When dining with Chef Haus, you will experience a cuisine that consists of; raw textures, hot and cold temperatures, vibrant colors, bold flavors, and fresh ingredients.
